I would like to thank Karen Thompson for her hard work and being very understanding of our situation.

Another bouncy castle accident....
Tue 31st May 2011
It has been reported that a 7 year old boy was airlifted to hospital during a family Christening party in Whitby, North Yorkshire on Sunday afternoon. The bouncy castle on which he had been playing came loose from its tether, flew up and spun around in the air. It then blew across a road and wrapped itself around a telegraph pole.
Cycling helmets do work!
Tue 31st May 2011
You may have read my recent blogs and articles about the benefits of wearing safety helmets, well here is one lady who is very pleased she did.
"Elephant doctor" to the rescue, at least until the air ambulance arrives...
Tue 31st May 2011
I was interested to read of the case of Dr Pomeroy, reported in the Bristol News this week: http://bit.ly/lovORH Her plight highlights a number of pertinent issues when travelling to countries where infrastructure and local standards of medicine are, at best, questionable and a far cry from those we are accustomed to under the NHS.
Plant a seed and watch it grow
Tue 31st May 2011
Therapists at the Defence Rehabilitation Centre in Headley Court, Surrey, are demonstrating how mother nature can encourage the fight back from serious injury.
Unused fire engines because they are too noisy!
Fri 27th May 2011
As a Legal Executive with a caseload of Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims I was interested to read of the debacle at Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Services. They took possession of two new fire engines in January 2010 known as aerial rescue pumps. However, they have been unable to use them as the engines in the vehicles are too noisy for both the public and the firefighters!

Pedestrian -v- Car ?
Fri 27th May 2011
As children we are all taught the green cross code. We are taught that when crossing the road to find a safe place to cross making sure that we can clearly see in all directions and to avoid blind bends or anywhere that cars can appear from
APD to be increased?
Fri 27th May 2011
The Government is currently consulting on whether or not to make changes to Air Passenger Duty (APD). Under the proposals, APD would be increased from £12 per person to £16 per person for flights of up to 2,000 miles from and to the UK. Rates and the number of different tax bands on long-haul flights would at the same time be reduced.
The failing NHS
Fri 27th May 2011
When you are admitted to an NHS Hospital for treatment, you expect to be in the most capable hands. Clearly, this is not always the case. A report by the Care Quality Commission has highlighted a failure to provide basic care needs to patients, with some even being prescribed water, having not had anything to drink for 10 hours.
How devasting injuries can be
Fri 27th May 2011
I was moved when I read the article in yesterdays Independent about Mr and Mrs James, the parents of Daniel the 23 year old who suffered spinal injuries whilst playing rugby. Daniel was paralysed from the neck down and so devasted by his injuries that he attempted suicide on several occasions before he travelled to Dignitas, the assisted suicide clinic in Switzerland.
