The New York Times reports Jeffrey Krusinski, Air Force lieutenant colonel in Arlington, Virginia, was arrested and charged with sexual battery. Mr Krusinski was the officer in charge of sexual assault prevention programmes for the Air Force.

It was with sadness that I read about the death of Becky Ryder, aged 26 of cervical cancer. Mrs Ryder first presented to her GP aged 24 complaining of cervical bleeding and requested a smear test, which was refused because she was under the age limit of 25 (for screening in England).

I was interested to read about a recent study carried out in Sweden in which 30,000 women who smoked between 1 and 7 cigarettes per day were monitored over a period of 7 years.
