Let's be safe this winter!

Julie Donovan Listening to breakfast TV this morning motorists were being asked if they have provisions stored in their cars in case of emergency or they get stuck in bad weather.

We no doubt all remember last year when many motorists were stuck on the M25 for hours in freezing conditions.  It is a good idea to get your emergency provisions together now before the really bad weather sets in.
You should make sure you have in your car a torch with spare batteries, plenty of water, a blanket, walking boots or shoes, extra warm clothing, mobile phone and emergency numbers and a first aid kit and a whistle.
If you are embarking on a long journey you should also make sure you have some food and a flask of hot soup or a hot drink.
Also very important is to ensure you have enough fuel to keep the heater running.

Let's be safe this winter!
