£4,000.00 Compensation for fractured ankle - cyclist knocked off bike by defect on the highway

We acted on behalf of Mr F who was riding his bike home from rugby practice. He executed a right hand turn from the road on to the designated cycle route on the pavement of the junction. In doing so he fell of his bike sustaining a fractured ankle. This was owing to the fact that the dipped pavement had not been laid flush with the road.

Liability was admitted by the local council.

Mr F was awarded £4,000.00 to include his loss of earning as a Captain in the Combined Cadet Force. He had the benefit of private health insurance with BUPA and their outlay was recovered in addition.
