Inquest into the death of Gladys Richards

On 17 April 2013 HM Coroner for Portsmouth Mr David Horsley gave his verdict in to the circumstances of the death of Mrs Gladys Richards (deceased) who died aged 91 years at the Gosport War Memorial Hospital (GWMH) in August 1998. The Coroner concluded that the prescription of morphine and tranquillising drugs by the clinical assistant at the hospital, Dr Jane Barton, had been a contributory cause of Mrs Richards’ death.
