The Appalling Case of Children Trafficked for Sexual Exploitation by a Gang in Rochdale

Malcolm Johnson, Senior Solicitor at Blake Lapthorn was interviewed on LBC yesterday morning about the appalling case of children trafficked for sexual exploitation by a gang in Rochdale.

Nine men have been convicted in Liverpool Crown Court of various offences against children as young as 13. The court heard that the men plied their victims with drink and drugs so that they could abuse them.

Malcolm said during the interview:-

"If you talk to anyone working in this area, they will tell you the sexual exploitation of gangs goes on in most major cities. Men prey on children from chaotic and poverty stricken backgrounds and they do so quite openly. I have dealt with a number of clients, who have been exposed to sexual trafficking and their experiences are quite horrendous."

Malcolm is the author of Child Abuse Compensation Claims published by Jordans as well as being a founding member of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers, an organisation set up to improve the compensation rights of survivors of abuse.
