Miss G was referred by her regular dentist to a specialist dentist for removal of her wisdom teeth.  She was a nervous patient and required sedation for the removal.  Unfortunately, the extraction proved difficult and in error, the dentist removed the wrong tooth.

Miss G contacted BL Claims solicitors as specialist clinical negligence solicitors. Expert evidence was obtained and Miss G alleged that as a result of the negligent dental extraction she required further dental treatment to rectify the situation. The additional treatment required included the removal of the wisdom tooth, which should have been removed initially, the placement of an implant in place of the incorrectly removed tooth and a crown on that implant.  All treatment would be under a general anaesthetic. In addition, Miss G would require replacement of the implant in 30 years' time and replacement of the crown in 15 years' time.

Following negotiations with the dentist's defence union Mrs C agreed to accept £12,000 in full and final settlement of her claim.
