Miss A had a history of a Pulmonary Embolism (a blood clot that causes a blockage in one of the arteries of the lungs) and was on Warfarin (an anticoagulant) for 18 years.

Miss A had to undergo routine surgery at her local hospital.  Unfortunately, Miss A's blood coagulation levels were not properly monitored or regulated before, during and after the surgery. As a result of this error, Miss A developed another PE, which thankfully for her, did not cause any significant medical complications.

Miss A contacted BL Claims Solicitors in hope that she could gain compensation. A letter of claim was sent to the hospital Trust alleging that the treatment provided fell below acceptable standards.  The defendant agreed to pay £3,000 as a full and final settlement for the injury sustained by the claimant.
