The briefing, which was organised by DAS Europe's largest legal expenses insurer, was attended by a number of leading politicians including the Minister for Justice Jonathan  Djanogly, Linda Lee President of the Law Society and Peter Walsh Chief Executive of AVMA ( Action for Victims of Medical Accidents).

One of my concerns is that the proposed changes my mean that a lot of people will no longer be able to pursue claims when something goes wrong with their medical treatment and that therefore a lot less vulnerable and seriously injured people will have access to justice.

I fully understand the need to save money in the public sector and the NHS particularly and one area I would like the government to look at is why the NHS defend so many cases to just before trial before settling the claim because that really does increase the amount of legal costs that are incurred as well as putting victims through and unnecessarily prolonged legal process.
