Last night I attended the preview of the Bloomsbury Art Fair. The brain child of a group of supporters of those injured by spinal injury, the fair gathers under one roof a delightful and inspiring collection of art for sale from a range of artists. It so happens that some artists there also have spinal injuries and their work in at least one case is inspired by their experiences of living with spinal injury. There were pieces to covet and pieces to revel in (sculptures of swimming otters by Ian Edwards were fluid and evocative of the underwater antics and play of the otters he was portraying).

The preview hosted a fundraising auction and was very successful. Limited edition print by Banksy sold at auction for around £5500 and there was plenty of buying of other pieces going on judging from the number of people exiting clutching wrapped pieces. It was really enjoyable and I would say to anyone with an hour or two to spare to take the trip - all proceeds from the exhibitor fees go to support a coalition of charities: Motivation, the Parachute Regiment Charity, the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust and the Spinal Injuries Association (which we are a corporate sponsor of).

You will get to see some beautiful pieces and support these fabulous charities.
