Who are BL Claims Solicitors

BL Claims Solicitors specialise in personal injury, clinical negligence and travel claims, providing our clients with hands-on support, nationally.

We are rated as one of the top firms in the UK and believe in speaking to our clients in jargon-free language and ensuring you're speaking to a highly qualified lawyer right from the outset

I can remember being packed off on school trips abroad with the old paper version of the E111.  This had to be renewed almost every time we travelled as a family.  Now, the EHIC has a 5 year shelf life.  The new scheme started back in 2006 so we are now nearing the end of the first 5 year cycle.  Those travellers who obtained an EHIC when they were first introduced will need to check to ensure their card is still valid.

The EHIC only entitles EU citizens to the equivalent treatment that would be provided to a national of the country they are visiting.  There are also some reports of hospitals in parts of Spain refusing the accept the EHIC at all.  As such, to avoid being landed with a hefty hospital bill, travel insurance is a must.
