The price of the Bee model is high with prices starting at £400.00 and increasing to over £700.00 depending on the accessories purchased with the basic frame.

The problem appears to have arisen when the company changed the design of the Bee's wheels from a metal bearing to a plastic bearing earlier this year.  The new plastic bearing increased the likelihood of the wheels not swivelling correctly, creating a tipping danger. Following a safety assessment it was decided that the safety profile of the product was inadequate and not up to quality standard. The Bee model was withdrawn from sale in September.

Bugaboo have advised customers that it will give parents who brought the Bee model between January and September this year a new set of front wheels. In the meantime, parents who continue to use their Bee model have been advised to lock the front wheels rather than allowing them to swivel.

A new version of the Bee model is now available.  This version has reverted back to the metal bearing.
