I have previously blogged about singers suffering from tinnitus as I specialise in Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims.

The latest singer to announce they are suffering from tinnitus is Coldplay's front man Chris Martin. He has been suffering from tinnitus for around 10 years due to his rather constant exposure to loud music.  He now wears ear protection and fortunately his tinnitus symptoms have not got any worse.

Both Chris Martin and Plan B, who also suffers from tinnitus, is supporting a charity campaign urging music fans to protect their hearing and wear ear protection.

The Loud Music campaign aims to make people aware of the dangers of loud music and encourages the active wearing of ear protection.

BBC News Entertainment and Arts reports more on this story and advises that the Action on Hearing Loss campaign includes adverts and a video featuring peoples ears being attacked by a drill or hammer. The campaign includes tips on how you can avoid damaging your ears and hearing, including standing back from speakers and using chill out zones in clubs.

The entertainment industry is getting on board and earplugs were handed out during London's Camden Crawl this weekend.  This event showcases new music talent.  Judge Jules, Jazzie B, DJ Smith and Gary Numan are also supporting the campaign.
