The seminar was held at the impressive offices of Anthony Collins Solicitors. The refreshments were excellent and very welcome after a long train journey.

The first speaker was Hilary Dinham, an Educational psychologist. She provided much useful information especially a crib sheet in relation to the different kinds of psychologists and how to ensure that the best expert is instructed for a particular client.

Amy O'Connor, a solicitor, spoke about the latest special educational needs news which was very informative. A case manager provided her vision of a perfect scenario. This gave those instructing case managers pause for thought, especially in relation to keeping the case manager updated and involved with the personal injury claim.

Alison Taylor, from Frenkel Topping, then gave a very interesting talk on the investment of trust funds and the new ways of investing in this particular economic climate. There was mention of alternative options which can be considered for some clients.

The final speaker was Dr Simon Fox of No5 Chambers in Birmingham. He is generally instructed in high value claims in excess of £500,000 valuation. Dr Fox explained the interaction between the Court of Protection and a personal injury claim. His points on limitation and capacity were very informative especially when adults over 21 years begin a claim.

Overall it was a very interesting and informative afternoon. Another excellent seminar by the staff of the Child Brain Injury Trust.
