It is important to note that noise can create hearing problems over and above that experienced by the dreaded aging process.  Pardon? I hear you say....

Joking aside, it is a serious issue and surprisingly in this day and age employees are still often exposed to high levels of noise with no or inadequate hearing protection.  There is a plethora of information out there for employers and advice on how to lower the risk to their employees.  But, unfortunately, not all listen - no pun intended.

Have a look at the HSE website link above.  The article also directs you to their noise at work website.   Symptoms can take a long time to appear and are not often obvious to the sufferer.  Normally it is their friends and family that notice first and often it all begins with a bit of gentle ribbing.
Do not ignore it however.  If you think you have a problem that may be caused by noise at work, just give us a call.  Time is of the essence as you only have three years from when you first noticed that your hearing may be deteriorating and that it may have been caused by your work.  Sometimes, a Defendant will argue that you should have known some time ago and this can mean your claim is statute barred even if you didn't actually make a link.  This will mean that you may be outside the three years for pursing a claim and can never be compensated accordingly, so don't delay.

Contact us if you think we may be able to help.
