Who are BL Claims Solicitors

BL Claims Solicitors specialise in personal injury, clinical negligence and travel claims, providing our clients with hands-on support, nationally.

We are rated as one of the top firms in the UK and believe in speaking to our clients in jargon-free language and ensuring you're speaking to a highly qualified lawyer right from the outset

These two elements are:
1. General damages or compensation for the physical/ psychological injury sustained;
2. Special damages or financial losses that have been incurred because of the Defendants negligence.

Prescription costs are a common element of special damages that we regularly claim.  I was therefore interested to read that from April 2013 these costs are set to increase.

If you pay for prescriptions the charge will increase by 20p from £7.65 to £7.85 but the cost of a Pre-Payment Certificate will remain at £29.10 for a 3 month certificate and an annual certificate remains £104.00.

The PPC offers savings for those needing 4 or more items in 3 months or 14 or more items in one year.  Remember,  if you are bringing a claim for personal injury,  to retain receipts for prescriptions purchased so that these can be included as part of your claim.
