Twelve members of the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, based at Edgbaston's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, are taking part in the gruelling Nijmegen Marches, in Holland.

The world's largest walking event, on July 13, takes place in the Nijmegen area of Holland every year and attracts more than 50,000 military and civilian fundraisers.

Money raised will go to the newly-built Fisher House, home away from home for the families of military patients being treated at the hospital.

It can be tough with blisters and muscle pain, but you can get through it by having a happy team and remembering what you are doing it for Fisher House is fantastic. It helps soldiers to know that their families are being looked after in such a kind and comfortable environment.
